KASH worked with member associations and regional councils to identify critical constraints and prepare position papers for several policy documents such as the reference prices of meat products by AMPA Board, the design of Rural Development Strategy by World Bank, the export promotion strategy by the Government of Albania. KASH participated in the negotiation process of Free Trade Agreements with neighboring countries. A campaign, at both the local and national level to influence
change, was designed. KASH positions were made present in meetings with MoAF, ME, General directorate of Customs Duties, Business Advisory Council and in two meetings with the Prime Minister of Albania |
Activities ...
On January 8, 2002, KASH organized a press conference announcing a major initiative
for helping the North East population blocked by cold weather and the heavy snow.
The GOA was forced to declare the state of emergency. Two accounts were opened,
so that the interested people could contribute. KASH and the Agricultural
Mechanization Association and the Chamber of Commerce of Albania contributed a
total of $ 10,000. Private investors gave commodities for the needy populations for a
total of more than $ 100.000. The vice Prime Minister Gjinushi, the Minister of
Agriculture and Food, Duka; and the Secretary of State Xhuveli, along with various
members of the Parliament were among the main supporters of KASH in this effort. |
