Goals:

Protection of members interests via advocacy

Foster optimal conditions for agribusiness development




Objectives:

Identify problems that concern the majority of agribusiness associations. KASH convenes every three months to identify the common and individual concerns of its associations.

Establish regular quarterly public hearins with the Government and Parliament for advocacy issues.

Identify continuous public and institutional orientation for KASH benefits and mission through mass media, roundtable discussions, newsprint, and other publications.

Recommend future policies on an annual basis through the KASH Board, concept observations on industry development, KASH consultation meetings and subsequent introduction of these recommendations and perspectives to the responsible institutions.

Strive via cooperation to limit,prevent and eliminate illegal businesses, and foster the implementation of law and regulations through meetings and negotiations with government structures.

Orientation continuously toward the public and other institutions through mass media, the activities of illegal businesses and KASH activities to prevent them.

Prepare workshops and seminars developed by experts to provide arenas where private and governmental organizations can meet and exchange perspectives..

Activities

KASH organized special meetings with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food and the
Ministry of Economy to present its interest in regard to the six Free Trade Agreements,
Albania signed with neighboring countries, namely Macedonia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro, Bulgaria and Romania. KASH representatives were members of official negotiating delegations in four cases.

KASH organized a media campaign to convince government not to allow wheat flour to come from Serbia and Montenegro without customs duties. Several papers were

Activities

KASH worked with member associations and regional councils to identify critical
constraints and prepare position papers for several policy documents such as the reference prices of meat products by AMPA Board, the design of Rural Development Strategy by World Bank, the export promotion strategy by the Government of Albania.
KASH participated in the negotiation process of Free Trade Agreements with
neighboring countries. A campaign, at both the local and national level to influence change, was designed. KASH positions were made present in meetings with MoAF,
ME, General directorate of Customs Duties, Business Advisory Council and in two
meetings with the Prime Minister of Albania.
